Producing Portuguese sausages with the same passion since 1959 and always with an eye to Portuguese dietary needs. Alfredo Barbosa, founder of RealSabor, realised early on that the quality of the raw material, reliable preparation methods and the competitive price of products are essential factors in meeting customer needs. In business for over half a century, the company has been developing a wide range of products and ways to package them that will meet the increasingly specific and demanding market requirements.

IN 1959, SAUSAGE PRODUCTION BEGAN IN WHAT WOULD BECOME A BENCHMARK IN TRADITIONAL REGIONAL SAUSAGES - REALSABOR.

Mr Barbosa began working in a butcher's in Vila Nova de Gaia, where he learnt the art of preparing traditional regional sausages.

Alfredo Barbosa took over one of the best butcher's shops in the region.

The success and extraordinary demand for his products led him to buy land in Olival, Vila Nova de Gaia, to build a factory.

Construction began on the sausage-making, slaughterhouse and meat industry factory.

RealSabor – Indústria de Carnes was opened in the factory where it still operates today. This was the year that his children took over the running of the business.

There was a major focus on the internationalisation of RealSabor. The products reach the four corners of the earth.
